"Fandemonium" Kick
November 20, 1988
Scott Norwood kicked the winning field goal 3:47 into overtime to give Buffalo a 9-6 victory over the Jets and its first AFC East title since 1980. Fred Smerlas had blocked a Jets field goal attempt with 19 seconds left in regulation, sending the game into overtime. The wild celebration afterward moved Van Miller, Voice of the Bills, to famously exclaim, "It is Fandemonium!"
